A Hearty Greeting and Sincere Welcome to you all from the Open Door. We are the voices of the International Order of Naths, and this is the inaugural edition of our quarterly newsletter. We are happy to report that the esoteric magick and wisdom of our sages and mages has taken root here in Seattle. This has come together as the formation of a beautiful constellatus of people who both discuss and practice the application of higher wisdom in their lives. The ancient wisdom and lifestyle of the Tantrics and its expression by our own Siddha Gurus and practitioners forms the foundation for our inspiration.
The International Order of Naths has sprung from the ancient spiritual lineages of many lands, but among them most notably are the gems of wisdom which come from the fertile soil of India. These gems have been lovingly written about and expressed by our own Beacon Light and Guide, Shri Gurudev Mahendranath. Shri Mahendranath is the final Guru of both the Adi Nath and Uttara Kaula Tantric Lineages, and it is he who has blessed our International Order of Naths with initiation validity. The general direction and attitude of the Nath Order is best reflected, I feel, by Shri Gurudev Mahendranath’s
Master Pattern of the Nath Order.
While many Naths and longtime acquaintances of our Work are familiar with the “Master Pattern,” we decided to include it in this edition of our newsletter as a way to introduce ourselves to those of you not yet familiar with some of our fundamental ideas. Meditation and the dissolution of obstructions or kleshas form a firm foundation for our spiritual advancement, and excursions into the divine realm of Magick and ritual offer us the excitement of progressive change and adventure.
Future editions of the Open Door will also include notes by Shri Gurudev Mahendranath as well as reviews and comments on manuscripts written by members of our Nath family. The International Order of Naths has produced a number of booklets in order to express ourselves and make available to the public ideas and inspirations which have made our lives so much more interesting and have contributed to a more dynamic and expansive spiritual experience for all of us.
Another function of our newsletter is to keep our membership and friends informed of our various activities and goals. Here then is Hermeticusnath and his Northwest Nath Notes…

The Pacific Northwest has seen a flowering of the Nath current in the last year. Many initiations have occurred and our Kula Family has grown bright with many new stars. Among those initiated was the Wizardess known as “Nema” to the occult community. She is the channel of “Maat Material,” including Liber Pennae Praenumbra, a powerful work familiar to many. Welcome, Padme Devi!
This Spring and Summer will see an extended series of Twilight Tantra seminars by Hermeticusnath. These workshops are crafted to open to the public a door to our Weirdglow Wizardry. Those interested in our Kaula Path are also welcome to weekly pujas and discussions held by Kapilnath and Lalana Devi at their temple.
A significant event occurred on the Spring Equinox in Seattle. The night before the Taoist/Tantric marriage of Sophia Devi and Hermeticusnath (at the Ling Shen Ching Tze Temple in Renton, WA), many Naths from the Northwest and New York City gathered for the first time. Those in attendance were:
Kapilnath, Seattle; Lalana Devi, Seattle; Hermeticusnath, Seattle; Sophia Devi, Seattle; Shyamanath, NYC; Suparni Devi, NYC; Garudanath, Seattle; Sekhmet Devi, Seattle; Bhavanath, Portland, OR; Kunda Devi, Portland, OR.
The Initiation Ritual by Shri Gurudev Mahendranath was performed in unison as it was voiced by each in turn. A powerful spell of unity was woven. Feasting, Rejoicing, Music, and Magick were enjoyed by all.
Other projects are also underway. In July, at a gallery in Seattle, a full-room exhibit called Earthspirit Temple will be installed for one month. This will be an art-temple created with ceramic, sculpture, paintings, tapestries, and mixed media. Flowers, yantras, incense, music, and ritual will create a True Tantrik Temple for the public to experience.
More publications centering on Shri Gurudev Mahendranath’s work are planned by several Naths. All and all we see our constellation of Naths growing and evolving in many directions.
As a New Kula Family of Wizards and Wizardesses, we Naths need to communicate and share with each other. Please write us about your activities and plans! May we all prosper! Om Namah Shivaaya!

On the list of upcoming events is one we have all been looking forward to. This is the birthday celebration of our own delightful guide and inspiration, Shri Gurudev Mahendranath. Dadaji, as we affectionately refer to him, will be reaching his 77th year this month on April 29th. A celebration get-together and feast has been planned on this day by our Nath community. All are welcome to come and attend this puja and enjoy some food and congenial conversation. This will be held at the home of Kapilnath and Lalana Devi. If you do plan to attend, we would encourage you to contact us by phone or mail so we can make the proper arrangements. Past experience had made us anticipate an amusing time for all.
The work, enjoyment, and spiritual attainment of our Cosmic People form the Magick Matrix which the members of the International Order of Naths seek to promote and quicken. Our joint efforts can produce something of significance and beauty for all of us. Best wishes to you all.
