Kub reporter from the Kailash Zone, it’s Kapilnath again. Spilling the beans on the miraculous and rehashing the past, it’s my pleasure to serve up another skull cup of palatable patter.
Topping our news stories is a report on the eventful New York meet of several leading Naths and Devis held at the 11th Street headquarters of Shyamanath and Suparni Devi. High above the city streets, the confab unfolded itself, oblivious to the restless tempo of the metropolis below. After some preliminaries, an atmosphere of cooperation and communication manifested.
In the hopes of dispelling confusion, many relevant topics were discussed and several explained here for the welfare of all interested parties. For the record, it was established that anyone given initiation by a Nath or Devi who could trace their initiation back to our Gurudev Mahendranath was now also a Nath or Devi, due to the validity of our transmission lineage. Or as it was put, “A Nath is a Nath.” While there is little doubt that the experience of any given initiate will vary greatly due to their own natures, it must also be noted that their contact or lack of it with other Naths and Devis inside and outside their own circle may also color their experience.
It was a real pleasure for me to meet Lokanath of London and Nimesanath of Ohio for the first time. In a gesture of friendship and trust, Lokanath granted me an AMOOKOS charter which I accepted in the same spirit, and with the wish of expanding the cooperation between all the members of our Nath Order. Participation in the AMOOKOS format is a voluntary one, and this participation is now available to Naths and Devis in the United States via Shambhalanath, Shyamanath, or yours truly.
The AMOOKOS course was constructed by Lokanath to aid the development of initiated Naths and Devis who wanted more guidance than that offered in the many manuscripts of Shri Gurudev Mahendranath and owhter writers. A number of Naths and Devis have found them stimulating and a vital catalyst to their progress. Feel free to ask me for more information or for the mailing addresses of other contact people.
Circles are still being held during interesting astrological moments or on any given Sunday as an unusual working unfolds in Kailash Zonule. Hermeticusnath, alias Denny Sargent, is mounting a public blitzkrieg as his Nu Earth Spirit Temple rises again and he undertakes a series of public classes on Tantra. A Prosperity Ritual was lead by Hermeticusnath at Emerald Circle Zonule as a Yule time observance and cosmic treat. It was well attended and good pagan fun. If things get much more newsworthy we may need an extra page or two.

Thank you for your dynamic letter and the info. About a week ago I had a monster card and a short note from Robert. He is in Bombay and will be writing a letter soon. A nice letter from Hermeticus yesterday morn. All well.
I’m glad you met Lokanath and more glad he met you. I had hoped he would spend a few days in Seattle. I had hoped his visit to USA and meeting the Naths would stimulate renewed activity or the desire for it. Instead his letter to me was very negative.
You reference to the offer of AMOOKOS and the responsibilities. Evidently what he said to you are a marked difference to his own conduct. When anyone wanted to join the Naths, he did not wait for them to ask but made them a member of AMOOKOS at the same time. One of the reasons I fear it difficult for AMOOKOS to ever get on a sound level is the widespread confusion and the large number of most unsuitable people already classified as advanced and developed magicians of an ARCANE order.
Over the last two years I have had letters from U.K. asking “If Mike has dropped out?” or, “Why has Mike dropped out?” I think I would be correct in saying that the majority of our people in UK don’t think of him anymore. I wrote to him about gettting pamphlets & booklets from you two years ago, but he’s done nothing in that period. I think Mike’s ego wants him to retain the status while not being able to engage in any activity. This is confidential [omitted].
The worst feature of his inactivity is that he does not think anyone knows about it and it took him by surprise also. If he does come to his senses and wants a revival, I will help him all I can. I have just had a letter from somebody in Manchester, a new body interested in the occult, saying he had been initiated into AMOOKOS. Of course, there is no initiation into AMOOKOS, but it does serve to show the confused state of affairs and things have now got out of Mike’s control.
The real practical step for Mike to have taken would have been to step aside two years back and thus let others take the reins. Although his letter to me was so evasive, it is possible for him to make a revival in UK & Europe, but it cannot be done unless he writes articles and prints the MSS for the members.
If there is the need for an Arcane Magick Order in the U.S.A., I would rather it was something new and separate from the confusion of AMOOKOS. What about “Magick and Gramarye Initiate Knights of Shambhala.” The initials form MAGIKOS (the Greek word for magic). There must come a time when advanced people are needed to teach the Nath guidelines to others and meet periodically to direct the affairs of the INO (or is it ION).
Unfortunately Mike has propounded the guidelines to others but ignored them in his own life. … Most of his concept of INO & AMOOKOS have been related and a rival to the old O.T.O. Now I learn of a group in Oxford of the Thelemic OTO forming within AMOOKOS. When we say Chaos we must spell it with a capital “C.”
The British have not the open-heartedness of Americans, so they both need different things and different patterns. I replied to Mike’s letter, but I have no intention of asking him to “speak up” and say what he wants or what he is going to do, or hopes to do. R.I.P. God is great.
Nitesh got me Paul Simon cassette in Ahmedabad. I like him, especially Gracelands and the girl with Diamonds on the Soles of her Shoes. I bash Whitesnake a bit, but we can now get the latests hots and hits in India. I got 2 tapes of Pink Floyd. Do you know the Scherzo from Litoff Piano Concerto?
I forbid Mike to have any grade papers for the Nath Order and I think people developed enough for AMOOKOS should not need them. It sounds like the San Jose Rosicrucians. In his last letter, 10/12/88, to quote Mike, he says—
“I have agreed to help him (that is - John) distribute his publications here and also attempted to broaden AMOOKOS by giving him his own AMOOKOS Zonule, but I am not sure whether he is really interested in doing so.”
This astounded me, not only after so long inactivity he is still trying the top man stance, but wants to spread the confusion to America. Let it be, son, let it be. I have very little contact now with the UK people except Sandy and he is inactive and sees the amusing play & roles.
I enclose a letter from Korea. I sent him a copy of “Open Door No. 1″ as I happen to have a spare. Enclosed also the list on yellow paper. Don’t send booklets to Asia unless you get the money in advance. He may respond, but don’t extend your lines of communication too far or too soon.
My health is deteriorating. No sickness or anything serious, just the effects of age and the inevitable decay. I spend most of my time on the ghaddi and content to remain still. My eyes are much better and experiencing a dry season. I am only wearing spectacles when I read and write, but they do tire quickly and need resting. This I do and listen to some musick.
Still sub zero temperatures in the north but warmer here. 17° C last night, the highest for a week or two. I think it may rise degree by degree.
Think about “MAGIKOS.” With you as the Grand Master, it should serve a useful purpose in getting the basic guidelines mastered by the leaders of all the groups. You could meet once a year and even hold a ritual to restrain the President. The membership may be only two or three at first, as this will not be for everyone like ION.
